Tank-Trailer Makers Optimistic for ’06 as Orders Rise

he strong pace of tank-trailer orders since December has some manufacturers optimistic that sales and production levels will improve in 2006, after a poor showing last year.

Executives of two major tank-trailer manufacturers told Transport Topics they expect production and sales to be higher in 2006, as carriers replace aging equipment and add new capacity for hauling chemicals, dry bulk and petroleum products.

Also, two trucking companies that recently placed significant tank-trailer orders cited the need to add capacity because of continued growth in new business.
