TCA Gets Robert Hansen Trucking

Transport Corp. of America, Minneapolis, acquired Robert Hansen Trucking of Delavan, Wis., company officials announced May 3.

Robert Hansen Trucking operates more than 200 company trucks in the eastern part of the U.S. The company had revenue of $24 million in 1998 and was expected to generate revenue of more than $30 million in 1999.

TCA said it will pay $2.2 million in cash and issue approximately 350,000 shares, plus assume about $16 million in debt, to purchase the company. President Robert Hansen will join TCA as a marketing consultant and will represent TCA as vice chairman of the Truckload Carriers Assn., a group in which he will serve as chairman next year.

TCA Chairman James B. Aronson said the two companies will combine their truckload operations within the next 30 days.
