TCA Members Urged to Get Online

LAS VEGAS — Get on the Web or get left behind, members of the Truckload Carriers Associations were warned at a Sunday session on how small carriers can take advantage of the Internet.

Nearly 40 carriers and technology vendors traded advice and stories at the panel, held on the first day of TCA’s annual meeting

Carriers were split between those looking to enhance their Web sites and those that have not yet developed a presence on the booming World Wide Web.

Common business uses of the web for truckers include load selection, finding back hauls and using e-mail to communicate with customers, meeting participants said.

"We’re all being dragged in this direction," said Rocque Dameo, president of Dameo Trucking, Bridgewater, N.J.
