As the Truckload Carriers Association’s focus on education gets sharper, its image of the Truckload Academy is getting clearer.
The concept, which TCA’s board of directors approved in March, calls for broad expansion of the association’s education and training programs using a combination of seminars, printed materials, video presentations and the Internet.
TCA has retained a consultant to help develop the educational program, and its president, Lana Batts, is meeting with industry suppliers and other associations that provide similar training programs.
The organization already holds educational sessions at its annual meeting and at a variety of other sites. It also oversees the Professional Truck Driver Institute.
As envisioned in TCA’s new strategic plan, the Truckload Academy will include educational programs aimed at all levels of trucking from chief executive officers to drivers.
