Thermo King Picks Insider In Filling Post of President

John P. Kinsella has been named president of Thermo King Corp., succeeding James F. Watson, who retired in May.

Kinsella, who was general manager of Thermo King’s International Division for the past six years, assumed worldwide responsibility for the business upon his selection June 21. He said the company’s greatest growth potential lies in Asia and South America.

“We’ll expand by implementing the model we’ve used in Europe and the United States,” Kinsella said. “Our dealer organization will continue to be instrumental.”

In his previous post, Kinsella was credited with increasing sales by more than 16%. He also implemented dealer development programs in South America and Asia.

Kinsella joined Thermo King in 1981 as managing director of the company’s European operations. He was promoted to vice president of the International Division in 1993.

Before joining the company, he was managing director of Life Savers Manufacturing in Ireland.
