ThermoKing Introduces New Refrigeration Units

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — ThermoKing introduced two new refrigeration units, a new auxiliary power unit and two new wireless products here at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

The Precedent unit for trailers is designed to save more than 10% on fuel use, with an engine of more than 25 horsepower that meets the California’s Air Resources Board's performance standard for ultra-low-emission in use.

It’s also designed to be fully compliant with Tier IV standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the company said.

For straight trucks, the T-80 series also was shown here at MATS. The company said it would reduce fuel costs by 20% and lower maintenance costs.

Its TriPac Evolution APU, which also meets Tier IV standards, has new technology to reduce fuel use.

The wireless fuel sensor is intended to enhance monitoring, while the new preventive maintenance compliance tool offers fleets more ability to improve utilization.
