TMC Discusses Corrosion, Heat, Tires

AMPA. Fla. — Corrosion prevention, higher under-hood temperatures and truck-tire technologies were among industry trends covered in technical sessions at the Technology & Maintenance Council’s annual meeting here Feb. 15-18.

Corrosion drew the most attention during the meeting, and at one session TMC introduced a draft position paper that called on manufacturers to build trucks to withstand corrosion for eight years, and trailers for 16 years — backed by a “100% parts and labor warranty.”

TMC is a unit of American Trucking Associations.
