TMC Meeting to Focus on Technology
The conference, running this week in Nashville, Tenn., will feature seminars and technical sessions, with an exhibit of heavy-, medium- and light-duty truck equipment.
This meeting will be one of TMC’s more important in recent years, as the council and fleet managers address several critical maintenance, technology and personnel issues.
The industry has agreed to a new standardized communications system for antilock brakes on tractor-trailers — PLC4 Trucks. This generic, relatively inexpensive system meets the 2001 federal standards for such a link. But it may have a significant impact on future fleet operations and maintenance.
Another issue is maintenance implications from changes in diesel engines.
