TMTA Joining Forces With Industry Groups

The Texas Motor Transportation Assn. is joining forces with two other industry groups in the state to increase its power and reach.

Under one year agreements signed with the Southwest Movers Assn. and the Texas Warehouse Assn., TMTA will represent both associations before the Texas Legislature and other trucking-related government agencies.

"We are very excited about this opportunity to work with these two associations," said Bill Webb, TMTA president. "We have very similar interests and very similar issues. We’re trying to pull everyone together so that when I go over to the state legislature and say we represent the entire industry, we truly do."

Bob Betters, executive vice president of the Texas Warehouse Assn., said, "We feel like it strengthens our association to have this alliance with TMTA because we know TMTA is on top of the lobbying situation and have a great deal of confidence in them."
