TMW Announces Partnerships with XRS, MacroPoint
TMW Systems Inc. said its TMWSuite transportation-management software now can work with software systems produced by XRS Corp. and MacroPoint.
The integration with XRS allows TMW customers to see information from the XRS device and software that allows smart phones and tablets to be used as fleet-management systems, the companies said in a Sept. 23 statement. The data the systems share include real-time vehicle locations and the time drivers have remaining on their hours-of-service clocks.
“The integration with XRS gives our customers another affordable option for enhancing their dispatch operations,” Scott Vanselous, executive vice president of marketing at TMW, said in the statement.
The MacroPoint integration enables brokers, carriers and third-party logistics providers to use TMW to track loads being carried by drivers who do not work for them, the companies said. MacroPoint uses drivers’ cellphones as load-tracking devices.
“Introducing the option for simple and convenient, load-based tracking for customers of our TMWSuite TMS means that they can improve their competitive position with shippers, expanding the near real-time shipment visibility data they can make available,” TMW President David Wangler said in a statement.
Both announcements came as part of TMW’s TransForum user conference in California. The same day, TMW announced that it will offer its fleet-maintenance software to the construction-materials industry.
Additional coverage of TMW’s user conference will be included in the Sept. 30 issue of Transport Topics.
