NASHVILLE, Tenn. — TMW Systems showcased several new software products designed to improve fleet maintenance operations during the annual Technology & Maintenance Council meeting here, including automated management of driver vehicle inspection reports, a mobile app for technicians and new business intelligence tools.
The electronic DVIR management capability is available to users of the company’s TMT Fleet Maintenance software through an integration with PeopleNet’s mobile communications technology. Through this integration, eDVIR inspection results flow into vehicle inspection tickets within the TMT software, where reported maintenance problems are assigned to a technician. When the repair is complete, the driver receives an electronic notification. TMW and PeopleNet are part of Trimble.
TMW also recently released its TMT Mobile Workstation app, which enables technicians to capture information when working on equipment on the road or in the yard. The app, available for Android smartphones and tablets, can be used to create and manage work orders, track labor time and request parts.
TMW said it also has expanded its business intelligence software for maintenance operations, including analytics tools that examine key measures such as shop productivity, employee efficiency and compliance with preventive maintenance cycles.
