Jeff Meyer has been named to the newly created position of chief operating officer at TransForce, according to the driver supply firm.
TransForce, based in Alexandria, Virginia, said in the statement that Meyer, who previously was vice president and general manager of distribution for Johnson Controls, will be responsible for service, operations, marketing and compliance. Meyer also has held management posts at Ryder System Inc., ABF Freight System and Sears Holdings.
"We feel strongly that Jeff's experience in transportation, logistics and company operations is an ideal fit for TransForce,” CEO David Broome said.
