TransForce Inc. said its acquisition of two units of Clarke Inc. will be completed by Jan. 1.
All conditions for the acquisition to be finalized have been met, Montreal-based TransForce said Dec. 20. Terms were not disclosed for the deal, which was announced in October.
TransForce will buy Clarke Transport, a less-than-truckload intermodal transportation services that operates a 15-terminal network across Canada, and Clarke Road Transport, which offers truckload services.
TransForce said the acquisition is expected to generate annual revenue of C$190 million. The Clarke entities combined employ more than 600 employees and independent contractors.
Clarke will retain its commercial tank and home-heating units.
TransForce is ranked No. 8 on the Transport Topics Top 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers, and Clarke’s truckload operation is listed as the 42nd largest in that category.
Both Canadian companies are publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
