TransForce Inc.’s third-quarter net income declined to C$19.3 million, or 20 cents a share, from C$24.7 million, or 26 cents, a year earlier, the Montreal-based trucking and logistics company said Tuesday.
Revenue jumped 49% to C$743 million, while earnings before interest and taxes rose of 34% to C$57 million.
In a statement, TransForce said its acquisitions of Loomis Express in June, of Dynamex in February and of the assets of Speedy Heavy Hauling Inc. in August 2010 contributed revenue of C$205 million in the third quarter.
The company also said it reduced its long-term debt by $51 million during the quarter.
TransForce Inc. is ranked No. 10 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
