Transit Group Acquires Container Hauler, Broker
Transit Group agreed to acquire the assets of Land Transportation LLC and a related freight brokerage operation from Rocor International of Oklahoma City for $18.5 million in cash and debt, plus an undetermined number of shares of its common stock.
Land Transportation represents a major expansion of Transit Group’s intermodal trucking business, which is currently confined to its Carroll Fulmer Group in Florida.

The Atlanta-based company also announced the completion of its acquisition of Fox Midwest Transport and its affiliate, Shippers Distribution Services of Green Bay, Wis., in a deal valued at $5 million that includes the issuance of about 515,000 shares of Transit Group stock.
