Transport Corp. Buys Robert Hansen Trucking
The deal expands TCA's truckload freight-hauling capacity in an effort to meet increasing demand from new and existing customers.
Robert Hansen Trucking operates more than 200 company trucks in the eastern part of the U.S. The company had revenue of $24 million in 1998 and was expected to generate revenue of more than $30 million in 1999.
TCA said it paid $2.2 million in cash and issued approximately 350,000 shares of its common stock, and assumed about $16 million in debt to complete the transaction.
TCA Chairman James B. Aronson said the two companies will combine their truckload operations within the next 30 days.
