Transport Topics captured national honors in two categories May 13 as the American Society of Business Publication Editors announced its 2021 Azbee winners.
TT won a gold award in the Print Feature Series category for Senior Reporter Eric Miller’s “Wheels of Justice” collection of monthly articles examining excessive multimillion-dollar “nuclear” jury verdicts against trucking companies and efforts to protect carriers against them:
Miller
- Trucking Targets Jury Awards (Sept. 21, 2020)
- Four More Individuals Indicted in Staged Crashes Scam in La. (Oct. 26, 2020)

TT also won a silver award in the Online Photo Gallery/Slide Show category for its photo gallery that was part of the “Trucking’s Frontline Heroes” package. The gallery was designed by Creative Services Manager Brian Kelly and built by Web Director Michael Benfield.
The content manager team of Managing Editor/Multiplatform Gary Kicinski, News Editor Judd Hanson, Associate Editor Anneliese Mahoney, Content Manager Linda Tufano, Content Manager Aaron Perryman and Multiplatform Coordinator Joe Antoshak handled the reporting, writing and collection of images, spotlighting more than a dozen men and women who kept America’s goods flowing during the pandemic.
Earlier, TT won five Mid-Atlantic Regional Azbee awards — two golds, two silvers and a bronze.
