Transport Topics’ Eugene Mulero Talks Infrastructure on C-SPAN
Transport Topics reporter Eugene Mulero was a guest on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” program Jan. 4. (Watch the program here.)
Mulero spoke with host Pedro Echevarria about the prospects for movement on an infrastructure plan in Congress during the first quarter of 2018.
Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, said recently that the Trump administration will be outlining a broad vision for infrastructure in January, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said there is bipartisan support for infrastructure reform.
Trump’s plan would provide agencies with $1 trillion over 10 years, with 80% of the funding originating from the private sector, according to a White House blueprint.
On Dec. 20, American Trucking Associations President Chris Spear asked Congress to consider establishing an infrastructure fund capable of generating about $340 billion over 10 years.
The program aired live on C-SPAN and on c-span.org.
