TravelCenters’ 2Q Loss Widens

Truck stop chain TravelCenters of America said Wednesday its second-quarter loss widened to $15 million, or 90 cents per share, from $9.8 million, or 67 cents, a year ago.

Revenue fell to $1.13 billion from $2.28 billion a year ago, the company said.

TA said “the continued slowing of the U.S. economy presented TA with significant operating challenges.”

Oil, diesel and gasoline prices all were at record highs a year ago, and have fallen by about half since then.
