TravelCenters Expands Network

TravelCenters of America, based in Westlake, Ohio, will acquire Travel Ports of America for about $40.5 million, the companies announced late last week.

Travel Ports, based in Rochester, N.Y., operates a regional network of 16 travel centers primarily in the Northeast. Its acquisition will expand TA's truck stop network to 162 locations in 40 states.

The transaction is expected to be completed during the second quarter of this year, the companies said.

Late last year, TA acquired Burns Bros. Travel Stops, which included 17 facilities primarily in the Western and Northwestern parts of the United States.
