Truck-Lite Co. announced an agreement with Star Leasing Co. to supply LED lighting and harnessing products as standard equipment on new trailer builds and to integrate its Road Ready telematics system into the fleet’s new and existing trailers.

Star will install the Road Ready master control unit along with cargo, door and anti-lock braking system warning sensors on its 20,000 trailers between 2020 and 2021, and specify Truck-Lite lighting and harnessing on new trailer builds, according to Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Truck-Lite.

Long-life batteries allow Road Ready to gather reports on untethered trailers, and the intuitive user interface displays trailer location and condition in real time on any device with an internet connection.

Columbus, Ohio-based Star Leasing, which has been in business 45 years, is 100% employee-owned.

Truck-Lite is constructing a new global headquarters in Southfield, Mich. It has facilities in New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida, Arizona, England, Mexico and China. — Transport Topics
