Truckers Ask Court to Stop IRP Ticketing by Alabama

The Alabama Trucking Association and American Trucking Associations have sued Alabama officials, trying to stop the state from ticketing truckers that used third parties to register their trucks in Oklahoma.

The lawsuit contends the Oklahoma registration tags were legal when carriers bought them, so it is unfair and illegal for Alabama to label them invalid now and start ticketing.

The situation stems from a controversy in Oklahoma over truck registrations.
