Truckers protested high fuel prices in London and in India Wednesday, blocking streets and parking rigs, Bloomberg reported.
For the second time in a month, hundreds of slow-moving trucks converged on central London, tying up traffic to demand lower diesel prices, Bloomberg said.
The convoys moved toward the country’s Parliament building under police escort, in a peaceful protest, Bloomberg reported.
Meanwhile, as many as 4 million trucks stayed off the road in India Wednesday after talks with the government failed to stop a strike protest, Bloomberg said.
The truckers were protesting high prices and taxes on diesel fuel, after the government raised gasoline prices by 11% and diesel prices by 9% last month, Bloomberg reported.
