Trucking Group to Buy Aetna Lines

Transport Investments Inc., a Pittsburgh-based holding company, agreed to acquire the trucking assets of Aetna Freight Lines of Warren, Ohio.

Aetna, founded in 1938, will continue as part of the TII group, which consists of five trucking operations and a transportation consulting business, with combined annual revenue of $65 million.

TII’s trucking businesses include: American Transport and Greentree Transportation Co., Pittsburgh; Northern Hills Transport, Sturgis, S.D.: BB&B Transportation, Walnut, Calif.; and Northwestern Trucking, Spokane, Wash.

Aetna is a flabed carrier that operates in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Kentucky, Tennessee, the Carolinas and Texas with approximately 165 owner-operators and fleet owners. The company currently generates revenue of about $12 million a year.
