NEW ORELEANS — With two consecutive grand championships under his belt, Marty Lawson is calling it quits to the National Truck Driving Championships.
After competing in 10 championships over the past 23 years, Lawson says he is focusing on winding up his truck-driving career. He is getting ready to retire and move to Montana in 28 months with his wife, Janie.
“My company tried for three years to convince me to compete,” he said. “I kept on saying, why do I want to practice on my day off.”
