UPS Adds New Service Parts Locations in China

UPS Inc. said that it will expand its global service parts logistics network by adding 101 new field stocking locations in China.

With the new locations, UPS will cover 89 cities in China. Its SPL network is already the largest in the world, UPS said in a statement Thursday.

The network uses UPS’s post sales order management system, a Web-based system that allows companies to place parts orders online and track shipments from the warehouse to the end user, UPS said.

The system is designed for companies that require same- or next-day movement of critical parts, such as companies in the electronics, medical equipment and aerospace industries.

In the last year, UPS has expanded its FSL market to include Asia and a customer support center in the Philippines.

UPS is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of U.S. and Canadian logistics companies.
