USA Truck Posts Highest Profit in Eight Years
USA Truck Inc. reported its most profitable quarter in eight years as revenue grew in the trucking and logistics segments.
The truckload carrier posted third-quarter net income of $2.7 million, or 26 cents per share, compared with a loss of $600,000, or 6 cents, a year earlier.
It was USA Truck’s second straight quarter of positive income.
The carrier’s revenue rose to $153.6 million from $141.8 million a year ago.
CEO John Simone said the financial improvement reflects the company’s “intense focus on operational effectiveness, while also benefiting from today’s strong demand environment.”
USA Truck ranks No. 50 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
