he Vermont Truck and Bus Association has decided to ask the New Hampshire Motor Transport Association to provide insurance and other member benefits to Vermont trucking firms starting in January, while both groups maintain separate identities and lobbying operations, officials in both states told Transport Topics.
NHMTA President Bob Sculley said his group was creating a limited liability corporation called Vermont Transport Management.
Through it, Sculley said, New Hampshire’s association would be able to provide Vermont carriers several of the money-saving benefits offered to NHMTA members.
Both Sculley and VTBA President Roland Bellavance said that Vermont would maintain its own lobbyist because that was the group’s strong point.
