Vitran Corp. said it bought retail supply chain management firm Las Vegas/L.A. Express, based in Ontario, Calif., for about $12.6 million.
The cash purchase price included assumed debt of about $2 million and $4.35 million of contingent consideration, based on achievement future performance measures, Vitran said in statement.
The deal closed Friday, and the acquisition adds 470,000 square feet of supply chain logistics space to Toronto-based Vitran, bringing its total to 1.24 million square feet in the United States and Canada.
LVLA currently operates from six leased facilities. In addition to its headquarters, the company has distribution centers in San Diego and Chino, Calif.; Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Albuquerque, N.M.
Vitran is ranked No. 53 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
