Volvo AB’s North American heavy-duty truck sales rose 61% in October from a year ago, the company said Wednesday.
Deliveries rose to 2,824 trucks, from 1,755 last October, Sweden-based Volvo said in a statement. Volvo AB is the parent company of Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks.
Worldwide deliveries improved 35% to 17,642 trucks for the month, most of which were heavy-duty units.
Year-to-date North American deliveries are 34% higher than a year ago through October, totaling 18,336 units, Volvo said.
Western European October deliveries rose 42% to 6,311 trucks, while Eastern European deliveries rose 64% to 908 units.
