Werner Enterprises’ second-quarter profit rose 11%, resulting from a “seasonally improving freight market,” the truckload carrier said late Wednesday.

Net income rose to $30.6 million, or 42 cents per share, from $27.5 million, or 38 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose 1% to $522 million, Werner said in a statement.
