West Coast Port Traffic Still Clogged, Truckers Say
img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/printeditiontag_new.gif" width=120 align=right>West Coast ports remained choked with traffic that still had not improved much since the dockworkers' work stoppage three months ago, truckers reported last week. But others said they thought the problems could be improving.
"It's still chaotic out here," said John Drewes, president of Devine & Peters Intermodal in Sacramento, Calif. "I'm not sure if we'll see normalcy for a couple more months."
On the other hand, Joni Casey, president of the Intermodal Association of North America, said, "I think it's settling down. There are still some backlogs here and there, but we’re not hearing as many complaints from our constituents as we were."
