Wholesale Increase May Lift Diesel Price

Diesel customers got a Christmas present in the form of a fourth consecutive drop in the retail price, but it won’t last as long as the leftover turkey.

The Dec. 25 retail price averaged $1.515 per gallon, a 13-cent drop since Nov. 27, said the Energy Information Administraton. The next day saw the wholesale price shoot up 5 cents.

The retail price is sure to follow, according to analysts.
