Women In Trucking Seeks Nominations for 2012 Award
The Women In Trucking Association is accepting nominations for its second annual Influential Woman of the Year award.
The association, with the support of truck maker Navistar Inc., created the award to recognize women who have created change and provided leadership in the trucking industry.
The first award was presented last year to Rochelle Bartholomew Gorman, CEO of CalArk International.
The judges for the 2012 award are Gorman, Transport Topics Publisher Howard Abramson and Women In Trucking CEO Ellen Voie.
Nominations will be accepted until Jan. 31, and may be submitted online at www.womenintrucking2012.org.
Award candidates are defined as women who make or influence key decisions in a corporate, manufacturing, supplier, owner-operator, driver, sales or dealership setting.
Three finalists will be invited to an awards ceremony on March 5 at the Truckload Carriers Association Conference in Kissimmee, Fla., where the winner will be announced following a panel discussion on the issues women face in the industry.
Women In Trucking works to encourage the employment and advancement of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize the obstacles they face while building their careers.
