Transportation software firm Xata Corp. said Thursday it lost $373,000, or 5 cents a share, in its fiscal fourth quarter, compared with a loss of $4.5 million, or 57 cents, a year ago.
Sales about grew 163% to $17.7 million for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with $6.8 million last year, the company said in a statement.
In the fiscal year 2008, Xata lost $3.4 million, or 44 cents a share, compared with a $6.8 million loss, or 99 cents a share the year before.
Fiscal year 2008 sales were $53.7 million, up 80% from last year's sales of $30.7 million, the company said.
Higher sales of the company’s Xatanet software helped narrow net losses in both the 2008 fourth quarter and fiscal year.
