Xata’s Fiscal First-Quarter Loss Widens

Transportation software firm Xata Corp. said Thursday it lost $1 million, or 14 cents a share, in its fiscal first quarter, compared with a loss of $554,000, or 9 cents, a year ago.

Revenue fell slightly to $7.7 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, from $7.8 million a year earlier, the company said in a statement.

The company said sales of its Xatanet system subscription sales rose 44% from a year earlier.

Xata said Monday it completed its $17.5 million acquisition of fleet tracking and communications firm GeoLogic Solutions.
