Lift-truck manufacturer Yale Materials Handling Corp. said it is launching a new line of industrial engines from Power Solutions International Inc. for its 3,000- to 7,000-pound Classes 4 and 5 trucks.
Yale said the PSI engines offer enhanced fuel efficiency and reduced maintenance requirements, enabling operators to move more loads with less downtime.
The new engines feature Yale Flex Performance Technology, which provides selectable performance modes designed to tailor the truck’s performance to operational demands, according to the Greenville, North Carolina-based manufacturer.
The new engines also have hydraulic valve lifters instead of mechanical lifters, which eliminates the need for valve adjustments, and a coil-over plug ignition design that removes spark plug wires.
Yale lift trucks with PSI engines are available for order now. Production is set to begin in the first quarter of this year, the company said.
