YRC Streamlines Yellow, Cites Customers’ Needs

onghaul less-than-truckload carrier Yellow Transportation is reorganizing its managerial structure to keep up with customers’ changing demands, the company’s president said in an interview.

James Welch said he installed a new senior vice president for bus-iness development and strategy, and expanded the size of the geographical regions into which the company divides its national service territories.

He said the reorganization was driven by changes in customers’ supply chains and said he hopes it will allow his 22,000 employees to react more nimbly, especially in shipping related to international trade.
