YRC Worldwide Inc. reported fourth-quarter net income of $400,000, compared with a $35.3 million loss in the prior year period, helped by an income tax benefit.

A new report issued by three organizations said that classification of port truckers as independent contractors rather than employees is costing $1.4 billion in lost tax revenue and wage and hour violations.

YRC Worldwide Inc. said it has moved forward in the refinancing of its debt by completing a multi-step transaction worth about $300 million.
