The Port of Baltimore’s state-owned public marine terminals surpassed a cargo volume record reached in 2019 before the pandemic by handling 11.6 million tons of cargo during fiscal 2023.

Despite a significant slowdown in the second half of 2022, two major West Coast ports approached the record-setting pace they had in 2021.
