President Obama has nominated Polly Trottenberg to serve as the Department of Transportation’s undersecretary for policy, the White House announced.

The Environmental Protection Agency has expanded its SmartWay Transport Partnership with a new initiative — one that aims to reduce emissions in drayage trucking.

President Obama’s proposed $129 billion Department of Transportation budget is for the first year of a comprehensive six-year transportation plan that will lay a new foundation for economic growth and competitiveness by rebuilding the nation’s transportation systems, DOT said Monday.
