J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc., based out of Lowell, Arkansas, has opened two new sales branches in San Antonio and Portland, Maine.

MercuryGate International has countersued J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. for $5 million as part of a disagreement over the effectiveness of an information technology system MercuryGate sold the motor carrier to support its brokerage unit.

J.B. Hunt Transport Services’ net income slipped 6% in the first quarter to $68.7 million, or 58 cents per share, from $73.3 million, or 61 cents per share, due to winter weather that raised costs and reduced revenue growth.

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. said it is raising its dividend for shareholders by 33% to 20 cents per share.

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. reported that its fourth-quarter net income rose 9.4% to $91.9 million, or 77 cents per share, helped by stronger intermodal, brokerage and dedicated freight business.
