XPO Purchase of Con-way
XPO Logistics Inc. announced its $3 billion acquisition of Con-way Inc. on Oct. 30. XPO also acquired French logistics company Norbert Dentressangle SA earlier in the year for $3.53 billion. Other large acquisitions include UPS’s $1.8 billion purchase of coyote Logistics and FedEx pending takeover of TNT for $4.8 billion.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration on Dec. 10 announced its long-awaited final rule requiring that interstate drivers use electronic recording devices intended to enforce hours-of-service regulations, and reduce driver fatigue and paperwork for motor carriers and drivers. (PeopleNet)
