Hub Group Inc. announced it is changing the name of its drayage unit to Hub Group Trucking from Comtrak Logistics to recognize the growing importance of drayage services.

INDIANAPOLIS — UPS Inc. said it will spend $70 million to deploy 1,000 propane-powered delivery vans in 50 communities nationwide and build fueling stations at every facility where the trucks are kept, the parcel carrier announced.

FleetRisk Advisors said truckload carrier Schneider will adopt its driver safety and driver retention predictive analytics models throughout its fleet, marking the technology supplier’s largest deployment.

The House approved legislation March 4 that would extend through May exemptions to federal hours-of-service rules for truck drivers hauling propane.

PHOENIX — The process of supplying chassis to truckers that handle international shipments is still fraught with confusion because of terminal delays and inadequate incentives for leasing companies to acquire new equipment, an industry executive said.

Canadian transportation firm TransForce Inc. said its income dropped in the fourth quarter, which was mostly attributed due to bad weather, and Contrans Group reported its earnings increased in 2014.

Logistics provider Expeditors International of Washington Inc. said its profit declined slightly in the fourth quarter of 2013 but increased in the full year.

XPO Logistics reported a fourth-quarter loss of $10.6 million, or 37 cents per share, compared with a loss of $9.3 million, or 57 cents per share, a year ago. Revenue increased about 137% to $257.2 million.
