Diesel Jumps 7.6¢ to $3.015

Diesel jumped 7.6 cents to a national average $3.015 a gallon — the first time in 17 months it has topped the $3 mark, the Department of Energy said Monday.

Logistics firm US 1 Industries said its fourth-quarter net income was $600,000, or 5 cents a share, down from $1.4 million, or 11 cents, a year ago.

Logistics provider AutoInfo Inc. said it earned $392,000, or 1 cent per share, in the fourth quarter of 2007, compared with a profit of $443,000, or 1 cent, a year earlier.
