Accuride to Supply Daimler Trucks With Gunite Brake Drums
Component maker Accuride Corp. signed a multiyear agreement with Daimler Trucks North America to supply its cast-and-machined Gunite brake drums to Daimler’s aftermarket parts group.
Under the agreement, announced May 28, Accuride will provide a portfolio of standard-duty brake drums for over-the-road tractor drive axle and trailer axle applications that offers OEM first-fit quality and reduced stopping-distance compliance.
Daimler makes Freightliner and Western Star trucks in North America. Accuride — which makes wheels, wheel-end components and assemblies, truck body and chassis parts, and other commercial vehicle components — will supply the drums from its Gunite wheel end component production facility in Rockford, Illinois.
