Commercial-truck parts maker Accuride Corp. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after the company burned through cash amid a freight industry recession in the U.S.

Utility Trailer Manufacturing will offer Trident composite steel shell drum brakes from Accuride as standard on all its trailer models, the company said Sept. 17.
