Low Hails Victory Over OOIDA on Leasing Issues

he president of refrigerated carrier Prime Inc. said a federal appeals court ruling Aug. 21 was a victory for the Springfield, Mo., company. Prime has been in a six-year legal battle with the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association over alleged violations of federal truth-in-leasing regulations.

Robert Low said he felt “vindicated” by the court’s ruling and was “gratified that this long litigation has finally been put to rest.” However, a spokesman for OOIDA said the case was not over.

“We are disappointed in the decision,” said Todd Spencer, executive vice president of OOIDA. “Right now we’re assessing our options. We could ask for a rehearing. We could appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, and we have many other options.”
