Atlas World Group Appoints Griffin CEO
Atlas World Group Inc. appointed President Jack Griffin as CEO on Nov. 21, succeeding Glen Dunkerson, who will remain chairman of the board.
Griffin has more than 20 years of experience in the transportation industry, according to a company statement. He joined Evansville, Indiana-based Atlas World Group in 2010 as chief operating officer.
“Having had the pleasure to work alongside Jack for nearly a decade, I can tell you there is no one more fit to lead Atlas into the future,” Dunkerson said. “His unwavering respect for our agency network and customers has rightfully earned him this significant responsibility and opportunity.”
Griffin expanded Atlas' footprint in the industry and helped develop new programs to assist customers and agents throughout the world, according to the statement.
“I am honored to assume this leadership role to carry out our strategic vision to further differentiate Atlas in the marketplace” Griffin said. “For our future, I am committed to acquiring and allocating the necessary resources and leadership to support our most important initiatives.”
Griffin is a member of the International Association of Movers, the American Moving and Storage Association, and Society of Human Resource Management. He also serves as chairman of the Moving & Storage Institute, the philanthropic arm of AMSA, the company said.
Atlas ranks No. 39 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
