Bestpass-Fleetworthy Solutions has acquired connected truck and weigh station network operator Drivewyze, the companies announced Aug. 7.
Company leaders view the acquisition as a strategic move to create a more comprehensive, innovative and integrated solution. Bestpass will now offer a suite of services covering tolling, weigh station bypassing, compliance and safety for commercial fleets of all sizes. Terms were not disclosed.
“Our customers were definitely wanting us to offer a broader set of solutions,” Drivewyze CEO Brian Heath told Transport Topics. “We knew that Bestpass was a good fit for that. We started having discussions around how do we make our joint solutions better for our customers. So, there’s a lot of excitement around that.”
Heath added that both companies share a deep tradition of product innovation and customer support. The acquisition builds on a partnership launched in 2023 to streamline the customer experience. The companies now aim to expand on that.
“We do have decent access to capital, which has enabled us to start putting together what we believe will be a powerhouse in offering our solutions to fleets and to state agencies,” Bestpass CEO Tom Fogarty told TT. “No. 1 on the list, for sure, was the combination with Brian and his team.”
Heath noted that neither company was pursuing acquisition when they first launched their partnership. But leadership at both started to see opportunities to create change on a bigger scale that would benefit customers. This led to conversations about combining and which company should purchase the other.
“It was obvious to both Tom and myself that we could really make a difference together,” Heath said. “The outcome is that we found a way forward. Bestpass acquiring Drivewyze is going to lead to a fantastic outcome and opportunities for our customers, and for the industry.”

Fogarty noted that combining the two companies and sharing technology will accelerate product innovation and address the current and future needs of fleets, owner-operators and government agencies. He also said there are instant synergies in accessing data and using those insights to empower broader solutions.
“Moving together jointly allows us to really coordinate future road maps, coordinate innovation and delivering better customer value,” Fogarty said. “Brian and his team have built a great set of interfaces and integrations with just about every partner that’s out there and Bestpass has been building them kind of one partner at a time.”
Fogarty believes the scope of safety products, services, toll bypassing and analytical solutions puts them ahead of other companies in the space. The goal is to provide customers with significant value, with leadership viewing the acquisition as helping to achieve those goals.

“One of the things we’re hyper-focused on, right out the gate here, is how do we create a seamless customer experience as one company,” Fogarty said. “As partners, there’s only so much that you can do. But with all of the talent and all of the assets under one roof, we can really focus on how do we improve that customer experience.”
Drivewyze will continue to operate under its brand and retain its scope of business. Bestpass-Fleetworthy assured existing customers there will be no disruptions to existing services and support. Drivewyze now exists as one of its brand offerings. The company also partners with public agencies to improve commercial motor vehicle safety and compliance solutions with smart infrastructure and connected vehicles.
